Trade Show Season is in Full Effect!

As has been historically true in our industry, we are in the middle of the primary trade show period. We just experienced the National Association of Broadcasters show and convention in Las Vegas. We now prepare for Cine Gear in Los Angeles. Since the proliferation of the internet, it is thought by some that these shows have lost some luster. But the value of having so many manufacturers showing a cross-section of tools of our trade cannot be denied. Plus, we get to see our friends in a social setting is something we all look forward to and appreciate.

There are myriad sources of information about what the hits of the show were this year, so we will just say that we saw many new offerings from various manufacturers. ARRI Alexa 35, Sony Alpha 7R, JVC GY HR-C500 Series connected cameras, and Blackmagic Design URSA Mini Pro 12K, just to name a few. Of course, there were several PTZ cameras shown as their popularity grows in our industry. In short, NAB was once again the place to be for broadcast and other professional video products to be seen and touched.

CineGear Expo

Next on the calendar is Cine Gear in Hollywood June 1-4. The show returns to The Studios at Paramount after having been at the Los Angeles Convention Center last year. This show focuses on a different segment of our industry, cinematography. Manufacturers appreciate Cine Gear because the show allows them to concentrate on products specific to cinematographers, PDs, lighting directors, and other specialists.

IDX WILL BE SHOWING NEW BATTERIES WHICH HAVE BEEN HIGHLY ANTICIPATED!

Of course, IDX will be an exhibitor again this year. We can be found outdoors in the LA sunshine at NY Streets Booth #34.

We urge you to visit us to see our wares, including Two 24V B-MOUNT batteries. IDX has heard you when you asked for these and, although others may have done it sooner, none have done it better. The HV-B140 and HV-B280 are high-capacity, 140Wh and 280Wh respectively. Being from IDX, each will have D-Tap and dual/USB-A/USB-C. There is also a BL-4X simultaneous quad charger. All are projected to be available in October 2023. Pricing has not been finalized, but IDX is always priced fairly and competitively.
