Batteries

  • How should I store my batteries when not in use for an extended period?

    We recommend batteries to be stored at around 20-30% capacity (2 LEDs) when they will not be in use for over a month. Make sure to check and maintain the charge level every couple of months. Check the battery manual for proper storing temperatures.

  • I just bought my battery, but the USB port seems to be broken… what is wrong?

    Press and hold the check indicator button for about 3 seconds to engage the USB port.

  • How do I power off the USB port?

    After 30 minutes of inactivity, the USB will shut off on its own.

  • What is the difference between the blue and black D-Tap port on my battery?

    The blue port is called the D-Tap Advanced. It can function as a regular D-Tap output and as a charge port only when used together with our VL-DT1 D-Tap Charger.

  • How long will your battery power my equipment?

    Answers vary based on the capacity of the battery you wish to use as well as the wattage required from your equipment.

  • Is my IDX battery compatible with other third-party charger models?

    We develop our batteries to work best with our chargers, however, most V-Mount chargers from third parties (Anton Bauer, Core SWX, RED, SONY) also work.

  • Can I travel on an airplane with your batteries?

    We have lots of travel-friendly batteries that are here and remember to always verify with your airline.

  • Why did my camera shutdown when using the A-Vmicro2 hot-swap plate with 2x Imicro batteries?

    'Shut Off Battery Voltage' on the camera may be set too high. We recommend this to be set at about 12V so the A-Vmicro2

  • My camera suddenly shutdown while using the IPL batteries linked?

    'Shut Off Battery Voltage' on the camera may be set too high. We recommend this to be set at 12.0V or lower for the Powerlink function to activate properly.

  • I purchased the Imicro-98 but I can only use 1x D-Tap cable at a time because the 2x ports are too close together. Why?

    A lot of third-party D-Tap cables are designed with the cable direction being opposite to ours. You should be able to easily flip the cable direction by opening the D-Tap connector on your cable.

Chargers

  • Does the VL-DT1 charger work with any battery with a D-Tap port?

    No. VL-DT1 will only work with IDX batteries equipped with a D-Tap Advanced port. (ie.DUO-C98, IPL-98, Imicro-98, SB-U98, etc.)

  • Will my IDX V-Mount charger work with other battery manufacturers?

    Our V-Mount chargers have been designed to be compatible with our batteries, however, they will work with most third-party battery manufacturers.

  • Do you have any travel-friendly chargers?

    The VL-DT1 is an extremely compact D-Tap charger that works with D-Tap Advanced (blue port) equipped IDX batteries. OurVL-2X is a compact V-Mount option for users looking to charge two batteries sequentially.

Power Supplies

  • How do I adjust the output voltage of the IA-70a?

    Remove the small rubber screw cover on the top of the unit. Turn the screw inside to adjust the output. (Adjustable 14.3V-15.8V)

Wireless

  • Is there a recommended way to set up?

    The receiver should be mounted about 10 feet high to maintain line-of-sight with the transmitter.

  • My transmission cuts off and the units are within 10 feet of each other. Why is my signal dropping?

    Due to the many variables that can interrupt wireless transmission such as location, crowd, walls, other wireless signals, etc., please contact our customer service department to provide details of your setup.

  • My wireless units are not linking, what do I do?

    Due to the many variables that can interrupt wireless transmission such as location, crowd, walls, other wireless signals, etc., please contact our customer service department to provide details of your setup.

  • I purchased the unit to use as a live feed for my church service/ sporting event, however it is not working properly. Why is that?

    Our CW-1 and CW-3 were developed to be budget-friendly wireless units for smaller productions to transmit the signal from the camera to a director’s monitor. They were never intended to be used for live events. Large crowds of people can block signals from being transmitted properly.

  • My wireless unit stopped working and nothing changed. I have not changed location, nor my setup. Is my unit faulty?

    Things can change in an environment without you noticing (neighbor installs a new wireless unit). Try changing locations (taking the unit home) and see if it works. Due to the many variables that can interrupt wireless transmission such as location, crowd, walls, other wireless signals, etc., please contact our service department to provide details of your setup as well as possible solutions.

ALPHA-I ND Filter

  • What should I do if I have some scratches on the filter?

    Most small scratches won't show in the image. However if a resurface work is required, please contact our Service Dept. ALPHA-I filters shall only be serviced at IDX to maintain the original quality.

  • I love my ALPHA-I filters but wish to use them in different formats. Do you have any other filter sizes?

    At the moment ALPHA-I filters are only available in 4 x 5.65".

Accessories

  • What is the difference between the P-V2 and the P-V212?

    P-V2 is our standard plate, and the P-V212 has an extra D-Tap port that is regulated at 12V.

Warranty

  • How long is my product under warranty?

    Warranty periods vary amongst our products. Please refer to our warranty page for current information.

  • Will IDX pay for shipping my item once I have received an RMA number?

    The buyer will assume the costs to ship items to IDX’s warehouse. If it is determined that warranty repair applies, then the product will be shipped back by UPS Ground to the buyer at IDX’s expense.

  • Can I send in my item without an RMA number?

    If goods are shipped to us without this number, they may be refused.

  • My IDX product is no longer under warranty. What are my repair options?

    A $30.00 evaluation fee will apply to each non-warranty model that is sent to IDX for service and/or repair that covers evaluation, physical review and diagnostic analysis prior to actual repair. Approved repairs on out-of-warranty items will be charged at a rate of $50.00 per half-hour of labor plus cost of parts.

  • Will IDX waive the $30.00 evaluation fee for out-of-warranty products?

    The $30.00 evaluation fee will be waived if the item needs to be serviced and has been approved for repair. If evaluated units are determined to need repair and the customer declines to have the product serviced, the charge for the evaluation performed will still apply.

  • I am unsatisfied with the product I purchased from a dealer; can I get a refund directly from IDX?

    If the buyer wishes to return goods for any reason, they should contact their place of purchase.

  • Can I purchase a specific repair part through IDX?

    Popular replacement parts may be purchased through our online store. If you cannot find the part you are looking for, please e-mail us at service.usa@idx.tv. Items repaired by users void all warranties.
