IDX Battery/Charger Kits and IDX Traveler Kits. What’s the difference?

IDX has been in business for over 36 years providing batteries and chargers for professional video applications around the world.

Did you know that we have IDX Battery Charger Kits that provide you with a complete solution for your battery and charging needs? These kits include either two (2) IDX batteries and a two (2) channel charger,  V-mount, Gold-mount, Sony SL-F PD and SB-U PD series products. Or IDX kits include  four (4) IDX batteries and a four (4) channel charger for IDX V-mount batteries.

Charger features include: Quick charging capabilities, Simultaneous 2 channel charging as found on the IDX  VL-4Se, VL-2000S or sequential charging capabilities as found on the IDX VL-2X,  VL-4X, VL-2Plus V-mount chargers. But they also have built in protection for your batteries so they do not overcharge your battery, which can lead to a shorter battery life.  In addition, IDX has several V-mount chargers that can also have an integrated power supply so it can be used to power your camera products while charging.

BUT THERE ALSO ALTENATIVE IDX CHARGING PRODUCTS.

IDX has the D-Tap Advanced port on several IDX product lines, Such as the DUO-C PD V-mount series, Zenith Gold-mount series an NP Series battery that allow for charging these products using the VL-DT1 Advanced D-tap charger. The D-Tap advanced port can also be used as a standard D-tap to power other accessories from the battery. Making the port Bi-directional power.

BUT WAIT! IDX DID NOT STOP THERE!

With our eye on the market and customer needs, IDX has implemented USB-C PD charging across most of our battery lines to provide users with the capability to use other products’ USB-C interfaces that are becoming the standard in the industry.

The IDX USB-C PD port can be found on the DUO-C PD, IMicro PD V-Mount Series batteries, the Zenith Gold mount Series Batteries, the Sony SL-F PD and SB-U PD Series batteries and the New HV-B-mount series batteries.

Using a simple one channel (UC-PD1 or UC-PD1SU), two channel (UC-PD2 ) or three channel (UC-PD3) USB-C PD charger, a user does not have to carry the larger battery charger with them when going to a location shoot.

The IDX USB-C PD has built in intelligence that can determine the charging power needed to charge the battery or any other device to which it is attached. In addition, the USB-C port found on IDX batteries is Bi-directional, just like the D-tap Advance port. The user can not only use the USB-C port for charging it can also be used to power additional accessories.

THIS IS WHERE IDX TRAVELER KITS COME IN!

IDX Traveler kits are either a single battery or two battery kit that comes with the UC-PD product needed to charge your kit battery. This provides the user with a way to lighten the load of its camera kit when on the road.
